Kununu is an independent employer rating platform (similar to Glassdoor in the US). It's a website where people can anonymously rate their employers on things like salary, company culture, and diversity.
I've worked with them for years, and in 2024 they wanted to refresh their illustration style.
The original illustration style I created for Kununu leveraged their bold brand colors in a flat vector style that paired well with their use of photography.
To refresh the illustrations, I worked with a small focus group from Kununu. First, I asked them to think about and list their core values. We talked about them together and brainstormed ways to transform them into visual characteristics.
Some of the values we came up with were humanity, energy, positivity, and stylishness.
This translated into a colorful style with a mixture of hand-drawn and geometric elements.
